1. There should be a page that contains the exact layout of the garden showing, in detail, where the beds are and what is planted in them at the time. That way we can update provide updates on the different beds, and people can visualize the different stages of growth that is taking place. This way we also have a log of what was planted in each bed and where, so that in the future, if certain plants do better than others at a certain time we all know! It will be a grand educational experience for all!
2. A page with the list of plants that are being grown, separated by season. The list will have both the common and scientific name, which bed it was planted in, if it has a companion plant what it is, whether it was planted as a seed or a start, etc... This way we can share, via encyclopedia style, what and when we have planted and our method of growing.
3. A monthly calendar of tasks, events, and garden parties! So that all can join!
4. The main page will share certain events and information that takes place in the garden. It will also serve as an educational venue that we can utilize to spread the word of sustainable urban agriculture. Look out for links, lectures, books, and information about other local, national, and international gardens and sustainable movements! We want to put what we are doing in the context of the global movement that is taking place. In doing so, we are hoping to identify the critical actions that happen on all levels to create a very necessary movement in todays society.
There is much more to come! Please follow us and encourage others to do so as well. We hope to see you out at the garden tomorrow. Also if you have any suggestions for the blog, fb page, or twitter (yes, twitter!)- please feel free to e-mail me or contact me on campus!
Have a great, beautiful Halloween!
Until next time,
KC
This is great. Does anyone know how to upload pictures to this site? I tried and failed. We need a "blog tutorial" session.
